Where to sneak a peek of a celeb at TIFF 2015

Yeah, we know that you’re secretly just going to TIFF to see Ryan Reynolds. Here’s where you’ll have the best chance of a celebrity sighting at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Hotels

The Ritz Carlton on Wellington. Try peeking in at the back patio if the crowds out front get too big. (George Clooney, Isaac Mizrahi, Olivia Wilde and Ryan Gosling have stayed here)

The Four Seasons, Yorkville at Bay. Often hard to catch a sighting due to the impressive barricades the hotel sets up.

The Hazelton Hotel. Check out the back patio – the front entrance doesn’t see a lot of celebrity action, as they tend to use the underground parking to sneak in and out. (Jon Hamm, Blake Lively, Clive Owen and Ben Affleck are past guests)

The Thompson Hotel (Bradley Cooper, Kate Hudson, James Franco, Carey Mulligan and Marion Cotillard have stayed)

The Intercontinental on Bloor. Can get crowded out front, but if you post up, you’ll have a good chance to see some fame.

Venues

TIFF Bell Lightbox. Thanks to daytime press conferences, celebrities come and go from the Lightbox all day, but security is tight.

Elgin Theatre. Try posting up outside the stage door on Victoria to see celebs as they leave.

Roy Thomson Hall. You’ll have to fight for a space anywhere near the barricades, but if you’re lucky, you’ll see some of the biggest stars arriving for big galas held here.

Born on the Prairies, Erin Cardone grew up knowing there was more to life than canola fields and AAA Alberta Angus. So she escaped, living in Europe and Australia, white-knuckling it through plates of calf brains and raw horse meat, and learning languages she can't remember anymore. After a stint as a jaded, skeptical journalist, she changed tack and began writing rather awesome blogs and showing businesses that advertising is dead, so long live social media, with her businesses Legendary Social Media. She now splits her time between various Canadian cities, Costa Rica and wherever else the wind blows.
