The CNE Toronto 2016 kicks off tomorrow (August 19) and has some pretty sweet stuff to check out. This year’s CNE has the standard midway rides, kids’ games, casino, farm-type stuff and fair, but there are a few new additions worth making time for.
Of note, a live screening of the very last Tragically Hip concert *tear*, a Star Trek art exhibit, and pulled pork cinnamon buns.

Pulled Pork Cinnamon Rolls
Just picture it: A soft, mushy, sweet cinnamon bun, topped with moist pulled pork. That’s a combination of words that gives me mixed feelings, but in the end, is probably delicious. The Tragically Hip Concert Tour Screening
Watch a live broadcast of the very last concert in the Hip’s farewell tour, thanks to a partnership between the CNE and CBC. It goes down on the Bandshell Stage this Saturday at 8:30 pm.
Star Trek: 50 Artists. 50 Years
Photos, illustrations, sculpture and art by 50 artists hailing from 10 different countries, all about Star Trek. Even Leonard Nimoy’s own artwork will be on display. And yes, it’s as weird as you are imagining.
Craft Beer Fest
Local and non-local craft-made suds are on tap at the CNE 2016. Find beers by Great Lakes Brewery, Muskoka Brewery and Creemore Springs, or check out the full list of breweries. Runs Aug. 26, 27 and 28 only.
Food Truck Frenzy
Eat some of the best foods dished up from the side of a food truck, like Bacon Nation, Burgatory, I Love Churros, Hogtown Smoke. Goes well with Craft Beer Fest (conveniently, they happen at the same times!). See the full list of food trucks, then eat your face off Aug. 26, 27 and 28.
