Cold Turkey for PCs and Android Phones
Cold Turkey is a great nuclear option for when you absolutely need to get something done. It works by essentially forcibly cutting you off of the device of your choice, letting you not be distracted while you work on your projects. The PC version allows you to set up timers, schedules and block lists so you can still use word processing and image software while being locked out of Tumblr and Pinterest. The Android version simply makes your phone stuck on one screen for up to an hour at a time, similarly defending you against wasting time when you need to work!
Habit Streak
Habit Streak is a useful little app that runs by the principle that any habit can be formed if you work at it every day. By offering you a checklist and a running tally of days you performed whatever habit you want to establish, it encourages you to continue so you don’t break the streak! If you’ve ever wanted to read more or work out in the mornings or develop any other kind of habit, this is definitely a winner.
ClearFocus
ClearFocus is an app that is a modified countdown timer. By leveraging the Pomodoro technique (where you perform a task for 25 minutes, take a five minute break, and start back up again), this app is a great way to stay focused with an assignment of any kind. It’s easy to work in periods of 25 minutes, and this timer tracks your progression and is customizable for any timeframes you could want.
