Headboards make bedrooms sexy, but thanks to Ikea hacks, they can also make sexy bedrooms organized. For $50, you can not only get a headboard, which is pretty impressive in and of itself, but for that price, you’re getting storage, too. All around awesomeness. The storage factor isn’t massive, but it does make a great space for smaller items like magazines, iPhone chargers and other bits ‘n’ pieces.
Here’s how to make it happen!
1. The parts. You’ll need
- Ribba picture ledge x2 – $14.99 each
- Linnmon table top x1 – $13.99
- A drill
- Screws
- Wall anchors
2. Do it.
Install the Ribba picture ledges along the top and bottom edges of the Linnmon table top. You can install them so they’re both facing up and use the top one as storage as well, or flip the top ledge upside-down for a cleaner finish for your headboard. Note that if you’re going to fancy up the whole thing with upholstery, reclaimed wood or textured paper, do that first before installing the headboard. Now attach the whole headboard to the wall using wall anchors so it’s mounted securely.
That’s it!
