Awesome Life Hack of the Week: Drink for cheap in Toronto

Whether you’re eating, drinking, or renting in Toronto, it ain’t cheap. Head out to a pro sports match and you’ll be forking over $15 (plus tip! insane!) for a pair of pints. There’s gotta be a better way.

Luckily, there is. If you know where to look, Toronto’s got a few pretty awesome drinking spots that’ll get you feeling loose for pretty cheap. So today’s Awesome Life Hack is actually an Awesome Toronto Hack.

Here’s where to go to drink on the cheap in Toronto:

W Burger Bar, 10 College St.

Sure, the names of the shots are downright disgusting (Satan’s Piss, Red Headed Slut, Pink Taco) but they’re priced at anywhere from $2.50 to $3.50. So hey, rack ’em up, because you’ll pay almost double that anywhere else, or more.

The Bar With No Name, 1651 Bloor St. W

If you’ve got no name, you’re automatically cool, but add cheap bevvies on top of that, and you’ve got pure love. The daily drink specials may change, but no matter when you go, a bottle of beer will run you $3.75 and a pitcher just $4.75. Pitchers, meanwhile, are just $10. That’s nuts. And sooo tempting.

The Cage 292, 292 College St.

All you can drink for $20 on Tuesdays mean a recipe for disaster.

Bill Hicks, 946 Queen St. E

Jager and PBR for $3, and bar rail drinks with mix for $4. ‘Nuff said.

Crocodile Rock, 240 Adelaide St. W

Drinks are just $2.50 all day on Wednesdays and until 10 pm on Fridays.

Wide Open, 139 Spadina Ave.

Domestic bottled beers are $3.50 on Sundays, which is pretty great in itself, but Wide Open also puts on nightly drink specials for $5, which is even better, right?

The Lakeview, 1132 Dundas St. W

Pair Saturday or Sunday brunch with Caesars for $4 or mimosas for $3 to cure the effects of last night’s debauchery at this old school diner. Then, when the breakfast booze has you feeling good enough for round two, move on to the $4 pint specials.
