End of January in Toronto? Cue the food and drink events. This weekend is the start of the Winterlicious festival, where you can attend some pretty cool culinary events and eat in some of the city’s best restaurants, plus the always awesome Roundhouse Craft Beer Fest, where beer aficionados will be dressed in retro ski gear. This weekend is also the start of the Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery’s winter exhibition and there’s free outdoor skating on Sunday. Just a few of so many things happening in Toronto this weekend, January 29-31.

Fellow foodies of Toronto, get your fill of some of the best grub in town, plus culinary experiences you wouldn’t otherwise have access to, like the art of curing charcuterie. That’s right, it’s an art. Winterlicious starts Friday and runs until February 11. (Love food? Read our Flavours of Toronto series.) Check online for tickets as many of the events and restaurants sell out fast. Also, bring your wallet stacked with cash, it ain’t cheap. But it’s worth it.

Winter 2016 Opening Party at the Power Plant

Need an art fix this weekend? Head to the opening of the 2016 winter season at The Power House and be one of the first to lay your googly eyes on their crazy/beautiful/wtf film, photography, sound and moving image installations. Cash bar.

Roundhouse Winter Craft Beer Fest
Get as many Ontario craft beers into you as possible while donning weird retro ski gear. Personally, we’re hoping to see some day-glo and leg warmers. Tons of brewers, food trucks, music and more. Advance tickets are sold out, so get there REALLY early if you want to score tickets at the gate, or try buy some here. Beer tickets at the venue are $1 each.
When to go: Saturday, 11 am-5 pm

Tickets: $25 at the gate, only 150 available at 11 am
Free Community Skate
Ready to get outside for a chill but kinda fun and totally free Sunday? There’s free skating at Irving Chapley Outdoor Rink, with free skate rentals, free coffee and hot chocolate, raffles and prizes and more.
When to go: Sunday, noon-2 pm
