Awesome Toronto events happening June 10-12

It’s kind of insane how many awesome things are happening this weekend in Toronto. There’s Bestival, Ontario Craft Beer Week and a Kickstarter event for the Bunz Trading Zone documentary. All super cool, and worth checking out. But there’s also a music and arts festival to celebrate Roncy, an African music festival an all-day music festival for Dundas West and the Luminato Festival. Basically, if you’re thinking of taking it easy this weekend and staying in, you need serious help.

 

Luminato Festival

One of the city’s best festivals for those who love art, music, food and culture, Luminato is in its 10th year and is going big, taking over the iconic Hearn Generating Station this year. Check out the website for the massive listing of events happening at the Hearn and across the city, and to get tickets.

When to go: Friday through June 26, various times

Dundas West Fest

How about free music, all day? Dundas West Fest is taking over Dundas St. W and playing music all day. Local restaurants and shops will be open to feed, clothe and provision you.

When to go: Saturday, 11:30 am-10 pm

Tickets: Admission is free

 

Roncy Rocks

Live music, a juried art show and sale, dogs doing stunts, games for kids, a sidewalk sale, BBQs and the official opening of the Dundas Roncesvalles Peace Garden. Basically, sounds like an awesome way to spend the day.

When to go: Saturday, 10 am-8 pm

African Music Week

Bringing together awesome artists of African music, African Music Week started Wednesday but runs all through the weekend. With amazing artists who have come right from Africa and around the world, you’ll not only hear music, but also talks, comedy, and more.

When to go: Friday to Sunday
Where at? Fuse Restaurant,, 366 Queen E and Small World Music Centre, 180 Shaw
