Awesome Toronto events happening November 6-8

People will be throwing axes at a pub this weekend, which sounds like a pretty awesome, if not absolutely pee-in-your-panties terrifying. That, plus a beat boxing contest and new inductees being added to the Hockey Hall of Fame, are all happening this weekend in Toronto, from November 6-8.

Canadian Beatbox Championships

Into beatboxing? Check out some of the country’s top talent throw it down for the Canadian championship beatboxing event. Judges are in town from New York and across Canada to knight the king of the beat.

Hockey Hall of Fame Inductee Weekend

Love hockey? The Hockey Hall of Fame is inducting its new members this weekend, including Sergei Federov, Phil Housley, Nicklas Lidstrom, Chris Pronger, Angela Ruggiero, Bill Hay and Peter Karmanos Jr. Yes, autographs will be signed and selfies are likely. The official induction ceremony happens on Monday, November 9.

When to go: Friday through Monday, various times

Pub Olympics

People will be throwing axes at the Dock Ellis this weekend, but for a good cause. The 2nd annual Pub Olympics are happening with all proceeds going toward Movember. Axe throwing appears to be the most fear-inducing of the sporting events, but the darts could get out of hand…

When to go: Saturday or Sunday, noon-6 pm

Day of the Dead Festival

In Mexico, all things ghoulish begin on October 31 like they do for us, but strech on for a few extra days of festivities. The Harbourfront Centre is celebrating the Mexican tradition of honouring dead friends and family with crafts, face painting, dances and more.

When to go: Saturday and Sunday, noon-6:30 pm
