Awesome Toronto events happening September 2-5

Ah, the bittersweet Labour Day long weekend in Toronto. It’s a weekend full of awesome events to celebrate the very sad end to summer. You’ve got the wrap-up party for the Toronto Fan Expo going on, the city’s main Jewish cultural festival, fireworks and food trucks at Canada’s Wonderland, and the very sad finale party for Electric Island.

Fan Expo EDM x EDP

The Toronto Fan Expo is wrapping up with its official afterparty, bringing DJs from Japan. Check out DJ RYU, DJ Korsk and Kradness at this Friday night EDM party.

When to go: Friday, 8 pm

Where at? The Opera House, 735 Queen E

Tickets: $10 in advance

 

Ashkenaz Festival

Toronto’s annual Jewish music festival is bringing bands like Abraham Inc., Gypsy Kumbia Orchestra, Baladino and Jinta La-Mvta to the stage. In total, there will be over 200 artists and 80 events going on throughout the weekend.

When to go: Saturday, Sunday and Monday, 7-9 pm

Where at? Harbourfront Centre, 235 Queens Quay W

Tickets: admission is free

 

Canada’s Wonderland Food Truck Festival

If you’re one of us food truck addicts that are basically on tour around the city, looking for trucks, head up to Canada’s Wonderland this weekend. They’re bringing in over 15 food trucks from around the GTA. Cash only.

When to go: Saturday and Sunday, noon-9 pm

Where at? Canada’s Wonderland

Electric Island Weekend Festival Finale

It’s a true sign that summer is over when Electric Island wraps up its EDM parties, and this is the last one of the year. The finale is a two-day event, bringing in Bicep, Dizon, Ame, Fatima Yamaha, and tons more.

When to go: Saturday, Sunday and Monday starting at 1 pm

Where at? Hanlan’s Point Stadium

Tickets: $65 and up

 

Labour Day Fireworks at Canada’s Wonderland

Canada’s Wonderland will be launching 6,000 explosions into the air, accompanied by music, to mark the Labour Day long weekend in Toronto.

When to go: Sunday, 10 pm weather permitting
