If you care about where your food comes from and what kinds of hidden “extras” are in it, head to Fort York this weekend for a two-day event all about sustainable food production. If you don’t, laugh ‘till it hurts at Toronto’s main comedy festival, or see some of the best emerging artists at the Canada’s Walk of Fame Festival downtown. Or, join your fellow Pokemon nerds in High Park for a “tournament” that’s really just a very casual get-together. All part of the quirky/wonderful stuff going on in Toronto this weekend, September 23-25.
JFL42
Skip the gym and get your ab workout from comedy instead (although the beer will probably negate your gains, bro). Just For Laughs 42 brings you a lineup of the best comedians, performing during the 10-day festival that goes until October 1. Your pass gets you a seat at a headliner show, including Jim Jeffries, Jim Gaffigan, Anthony Jeselnick and more, with up to 10 credits to see other comedians in the lineup.
When to go: Friday, until October 1. Various times
Where at? Sony Centre for the Performing Arts

Plus, catch some of the best emerging artists of 2016.

Farm to Fork on Common Ground

Pokemon GO Tournament Toronto
If you’re still working on catching ‘em all, head to High Park on Saturday afternoon to meet up with fellow PokeAddicts. Sadly, the organizers didn’t get any sponsorships, so it’s not really the official “event” that they wanted, but still, you can bet thousands of people will show up to catch a Squirtle or whatever.
When to go: Saturday, noon-6 pm
Where at? High Park, 873 Bloor W
Tickets: admission is free
