Where to get a kick ass hot dog in TO this summer

Summer’s in full swing right now and there’s no lack of things to do all day. From relaxing at the beach to playing in the park with friends, summer is time for fun and games.

Of course, all those fun and games will eventually make you hungry! What better food to fill up your tank than a summer hot dog? Toronto is packed with great places to get hot dogs, but where can you go for the best dogs in town?

WVRST

Located on King Street West, WVRST is an authentic beer hall that provides its patrons with some of the best beer, sausages and fries you’ll find in Toronto. Sporting a wide selection of strange and wonderful sausages (from beef to Kangaroo to Elk, Boar and Duck!), you’ll never be tired of the variety here. They even have vegetarian and vegan-friendly sausages as well! WVRST is a great, casual location for anyone looking to eat some unusual things and have a great time. A beer and a dog after a hot day is just perfect!

Smoke’s Weinerie

Smoke’s Weinerie on Spadina is where to go for a no-nonsense, all toppings dog anywhere from half- to foot-long. While they definitely cater to the mustard and ketchup types, they have toppings ranging anywhere from mushrooms and chilli to poutine and Hawaiian. For those in a bit more of a rush and completely uncaring about whether or not they get a bit messy with their food, Smoke’s is the place to go. It’s hard to find a place that does a dog as well as here!

Fancy Franks

This gourmet hot dog shop is located on College Street in Little Italy, and you’ll fall in love with it the second you step in. From the awesome décor to the casual dining atmosphere, this is a perfect place to relax and unwind after a busy day. The best part of Fancy Franks? All the food is locally sourced to ensure that extra bit of quality – the toppings are all fresh from Kensington Market, the buns are from Silverstein’s Bakery and the meat is provided by a Toronto butcher. It’s hard to get a fancy, delicious dog with ingredients as fresh as these!

So she escaped, living in Europe and Australia, white-knuckling it through plates of calf brains and raw horse meat, and learning languages she can't remember anymore.
